Itinerary of Jordan Spiritual “Mosaic of Faith and History”
Day 01: Amman Int’l Airport
- Upon your arrival at Amman Int’l Airport, Jordan, you will be greeted and welcomed by our professional representative.
- From there, you will be escorted to your hotel in Amman, a captivating and cosmopolitan city renowned for its rich history, vibrant culture, and modern amenities.
Day 02: Amman – As-Salt
- Embark on a visit to the ancient town of As-Salt, renowned for its historical significance as the key trading link between the eastern desert and the western region. Explore the downtown area and visit the museum to delve into the town’s rich heritage.
- Adjacent to As-Salt, you’ll find the tomb of Ayyub (Job), a revered figure known for his unwavering loyalty to God despite enduring immense hardships. Take a moment to visit this sacred site, which commemorates the life of Ayyub, a wealthy and influential man of his time.
- Afterward, return to Amman, where you will embark on a panoramic tour that allows you to experience the city’s vibrant energy and witness its architectural diversity. While this tour doesn’t include stops at specific sites, you’ll have the opportunity to appreciate the city’s landmarks, modern infrastructure, and bustling streets. Take in the panoramic views of Amman’s skyline, capturing the essence of this dynamic metropolis.
Day 03: Amman – Jerash – Anjara – Tel Mar Elias
- Begin your journey by heading to the ancient Roman city of Jerash. This remarkable archaeological site is known for its exceptionally well-preserved ruins, providing a glimpse into the grandeur of the Roman Empire. Explore the paved and colonnaded streets, marvel at the soaring hilltop temples, and admire the theaters, spacious public squares, plazas, baths, fountains, and city walls. Jerash offers a rich tapestry of historical and architectural wonders, allowing you to immerse yourself in the splendour of this ancient city.
- Proceed to Anjara, a town with profound religious significance. It is believed that Jesus Christ, his mother Mary, and his disciples passed through this area and found rest in a nearby cave. Today, this cave is commemorated with the church of Our Lady of the Mountain, a pilgrimage site that attracts devout Christians from around the world. Day 04: Amman – Pella – Um Qais
- Begin your journey by transferring to the ancient site of Pella. Here, you can explore the remains of a Chalcolithic settlement dating back to the 4th millennium BC. Pella offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient civilizations, with archaeological finds that include houses, pottery, and other artefacts from different periods. Day 05: Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Kerak – Petra
- Travel to Madaba, a city renowned for its mosaic art. Madaba is best known for the famous 6th-century Mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. This intricate mosaic map, located in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, depicts biblical scenes and provides a unique historical perspective. In addition to the mosaic map, Madaba is home to spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics that adorn various churches and archaeological sites throughout the city. Take your time to admire the craftsmanship and artistic beauty of these ancient mosaics.
- Proceed to Mt. Nebo, a significant biblical site. According to tradition, Mt. Nebo is the place where Moses was granted a view of the promised land before his passing. Although the church on the site may be closed for renovation, you can still explore the area and witness the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Stand in the same location where Moses stood and reflect on the historical and spiritual significance of this revered site.
- Head south to visit Kerak Castle, a remarkable Crusaders’ Castle dating back to the 12th century.
