LEBANON HIGHLIGHTS

Day 01: Beirut international Airport – Beirut
Arrival to Beirut International Airport. Meet, assist and transfer to chosen hotel.
Day 02: Beirut City Tour – Dog River – Jeita – Byblos – Beirut
Morning City Tour of Beirut (Beirut reconstruction project, Pigeon Rock, National Museum). Continue north to the Dog River where history’s great conquerors carved on the cliffs 19 inscriptions in memory of their glory. Continue to the Jeita Grotto, an enormous cavern festooned with every shape and size of stalactite and stalagmite. In the afternoon continue to Byblos to visit the Crusaders castle, the Phoenician temples, the Roman theatre and the Royal Necropolis. Overnight in Beirut.
Day 03: Beirut – Deir El Kamar – Beiteddine – Beirut
Drive south to Deir El Kamar, former capital of Mount Lebanon. Proceed to Beiteddine and visit the magnificent Palace of Emir Bechir where you can see the complex and its museum. Overnight in Beirut.
Day 04: Beirut – Baalbek – Anjar – Beirut
Early departure to Baalbek to visit the most colossal monuments ever to be found from the Roman period, the temple of Jupiter with its sumptuous columns, the richly decorated temple of Bacchus and the original pentagonal temple of Venus. In the afternoon visit of Anjar, the unique fortified city in Lebanon. Overnight in Beirut.
Day 05: Beirut – Cedars – Besharre – Tripoli – Beirut
Depart towards the North of Lebanon to visit the Cedars forest and mountain where some trees are over 1000 years old. Continue to Besharre the hometown of the famous Lebanese writer Gibran Khalil Gibran where you can visit the town and the museum. In the afternoon continue to Tripoli, the modern city that preserves jealously its medieval old religious edifices and public buildings. In the old city you can see the Crusader Castle of Raymond de St. Gilles, mosques from the Mameluks period, Koranic schools, oriental Bazaars and Turkish baths. Overnight in Beirut.
Day 06: Beirut – Sidon – Tyre – Qana – Beirut
Drive south of Beirut to Sidon to visit the Castle of the Sea, a 13th century Crusader fortress. Proceed to visit the soap museum and souks. In the afternoon continue to Tyre to visit the Necropolis and Imperial excavations and the amphitheatre from the Roman era. The last stop in Qana, the place where Jesus transformed water to wine. Overnight in Beirut.
Day 07: Beirut – Beirut International Airport
Transfer to Beirut International Airport for departure flight or transfer to Syria and/or Jordan for extension programs.
